The weather event on Monday 2 September has significantly impacted residents and towns in the Baw Baw Shire, and Council will continue to work with those who have been affected.

Council will continue to provide updates to the community as the situation across the Shire changes.

Council Services

Over 550 storm-related requests have been lodged with us following the September storm-event.

We’re working on assessing dangerous trees, clearing storm debris, and prioritising clean up on roads so that we can make our reserves and roads safe for the public.

If you have any storm damage that you need to report to us, you can do this by:

  • The Snap Send Solve app on your phone
  • Or you can give us a call on 5624 2411.
  • Alternatively, residents can fill in the online storm assistance form.
If you have fallen trees or hanging broken branches that are a hazard on private property, please contact the SES for help on 132 500.

Due to the volume of requests, residents are encouraged to use online reporting methods if they can. Including photos and being as accurate as possible with description of location is particularly helpful to assist crews in prioritising the most urgent requests.

Bins and Waste Management

If you have been affected by the storm and require support for green waste disposal, please contact Council’s Emergency Management Team.

If you have spoiled food as a result of power outages that you are unable to dispose of utilising your kerbside collection service, Council’s Lardner and Trafalgar Transfer Stations will accept one 80L bag of spoiled food for free until Sunday 15 September at 4.00pm.

Roads

Clean up works on roads and reserves remains on-going.

We’re working on assessing dangerous trees, clearing storm debris, and prioritising clean up on roads so that we can make our reserves and roads safe for the public.
