Rural Land Use Review

Project Summary

Growing pressures and changing economic conditions have resulted in challenges for our rural farming areas. The RLUR aims to address these challenges and provide a strategy on a way forward. Broadly, the RLUR will look at housing options in rural areas, subdivisions and lot sizes, and also include discussions on external factors such as intensive farming and the effects of climate change. In the past, Baw Baw Shire Council has gathered many different views and information on the future of our farming areas.

The purpose of the RLUR is to support our agriculture industry, while providing for sensible solutions to housing demand in rural areas and assistance in adapting to external economic changes. The RLUR seeks to provide guidance and certainty to planning the future of our rural areas.
