Yarragon K-6 School provides a caring and challenging learning environment that prepares students to become lifelong learners and valued members of society.
At Yarragon K-6 School we have an emphasis on the professional learning community approach which caters for each child's learning in a child-centred program that has high expectations for each child. We combine this with comprehensive literacy and numeracy programs, developmental learning, critical and analytical thinking skills and a commitment to the development and integration of information and communication technology across the curriculum.
Our specialist programs include Physical Education, LOTE, ICT and Library. Our students have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities to further enhance their learning.
Parents have the opportunity, and are encouraged, to be involved at many levels within the school, including School Council, Parents Club, assisting in the classroom, working bees, camps, excursions, sharing expertise with children and coaching sporting teams. This partnership is highly valued by our staff and school community. Yarragon Primary School is an integral part of the local community.
Our school's central purpose is to provide students with a safe, happy, positive learning environment that values individual and group excellence. We work hard to live up to our motto, "Endless Possibilities", by instilling our values of excellence, confidence, collaboration, safety and security and finally, integrity and respect.
To further enhance and support the curriculum we offer a broad range of extra-curricular activities. These include camps, excursions, Swimming, Bike Ed, interschool sports, Festival Days, University NSW English and Mathematics Competition and incursions.
These also support our leadership program including mainly Grade 5 and 6 and others in Junior School Council. Every child can be a leader at Yarragon. We moved to our new school in November 2012 and now boast some modern and flexible learning spaces, extensive grounds and generally an excellent facility for learning.
