Statement from CEO Mark Dupe - Narracan Election

“Today Mayor of Baw Baw Shire Cr Annemarie McCabe nominated as a candidate in the Narracan Supplementary Election on 28 January 2023.

As such, and as per the MAV Guidelines, Cr McCabe will take a leave of absence effective immediately until the election is complete.

Deputy Mayor Cr Michael Leaney will act as Mayor, also effective immediately, for the duration of the election period.

Administrative procedures are underway to ensure Council business continues and, importantly, all relevant processes and conventions are followed.”
