Council is accepting expressions of interest from local community groups and businesses looking to host events and activities to celebrate the Seniors Festival this October.

Each year the Victorian Seniors Festival attracts over 180,000 Victorians who participate in variety of free and low-cost local events and activities that promote ageing positively.

This year the Seniors Festival is turning 40 and is planned to feature in-person and online events and activities spread throughout local communities.

In previous years, activities have included group fitness, aquatic classes, singing, dancing activities, bushwalking, gardening sessions, movie screenings and more.

As part of this year’s celebration, all local Senior’s Festival events and activities will be promoted via a booklet distributed by Baw Baw Shire Council to showcase everything that’s on offer for local seniors to enjoy.

Anyone interested in getting involved and promoting their event and/or activity within the local Senior’s Festival booklet are invited to email access.equity@bawbawshire.vic.gov.au  by Friday 29 July 2022.

“We’re encouraging local groups and business to get involved and host an activity or event that caters to our over 60s community and celebrates ageing positively.

The past two years has shown all the creative and diverse ways local group and organisations can come together to celebrate Victorian Seniors Festival and we look forward to seeing all the in person and online activities planned for this year.”
