Community Infrastructure
Exhibition Hall, Warragul
Council moved to resolve to permanently close the Exhibition Hall, Warragul, following its temporary closure, and repatriate the site in the 2025/26 Financial Year. This item was passed, not unanimously.
Response to Petition - Stop Waterford Rise Traffic II
Council moved to; note the report in response to the Petition, note the Precinct Structure Plan nominates both Crole Drive and Longview Drive as Collector Roads, deliver the proposed Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) treatments included in the current Safer Local Roads and Safer Streets Program (subject to the successful outcome of the current funding application), note Council has installed 50km/hr speed limit signage on Longview Road, and advise the lead petitioner of Council's decision. This item was passed unanimously.
Governance and Information Services
Proposal to name a Yarragon Park 'Angela Malacarne Park' - post consultation
Council moved to endorse the name 'Angela Malacarne Park' for the park on Rollo Street, Yarragon. Council also endorsed officers to install appropriate interpretive signage at the park, and for Council Officers to write to each submitter informing them of Council's decision. This item was passed unanimously.
Council Support & Expense Policy and Councillor Gift Policy
Council moved an alternate motion to propose a number of amendments to the Policy, which was passed, not unanimously.
General Business Motion Response - Viability of purchasing the Longwarry Recreation Reserve
Council moved to endorse Officers to negotiate with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) to progress options to vest Longwarry Recreation Reserve to Council. Council Officers will write to The Hon. Lily D'Ambrosio MP, coordinating minister for DEECA, to advocate for the transfer of ownership of the land to Council. This item was passed unanimously.
Proposal to name the Noojee Streamside Reserve after Gladys Sanderson
Council moved the motion to progress the naming proposal which is a great recognition of the service of Ms Sanderson to her community. This item was passed unanimously.

General Business
Interim CEO Cohen Van der Velde moved a CEO General Business Motion seeking Council defer the report in response to the General Business Motion raised by Councillor Pratt at the 4 December 2024 Council Meeting regarding the feasibility of purchasing portable change rooms to no later than the 23 April 2025 Council Meeting.
Baw Baw Shire Council's Council Meetings are open to the public and are held at the West Gippsland Arts Centre.
Council Meetings will commence at 5:30pm on the second Wednesday of the month, and 1:00pm on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
All Council meetings will be live-streamed, and archived recordings will be available on the Council website for viewing.
The agenda for the next meeting will be available online the Friday prior to the meeting.
