Baw Baw Shire Council has today announced the appointment of Martin Hopley as the organisation's new interim Chief Executive Officer following the resignation of Mark Dupe last week.

Council voted to offer the temporary leadership role to Mr Hopley during today’s confidential Council meeting.

Mr Hopley has been a key member of our Executive Leadership team at Baw Baw Shire since 2017 and is an accomplished executive with years of experience in local government.

Baw Baw Shire Mayor Cr Danny Goss said Mr Hopley would ensure business continuity for the organisation while a comprehensive recruitment process for a new permanent Chief Executive Officer would commence in the new year.

“We can assure the community that we will continue delivering positive outcomes for Baw Baw during this important transition phase,” Cr Goss said.

“We thank Martin for supporting us through this period and look forward to commencing the recruitment process for our new CEO.”

Mr Hopley has been appointed interim CEO until 31 August 2025 or until an ongoing CEO is appointed.
