Councillor Danny Goss was first elected to Baw Baw Shire Council in 2016. It is his nineth consecutive year on Council following his re-election in 2020 and again in 2024.

Cr Goss is the current Mayor of Baw Baw Shire. This is his third term as Mayor, having previously been elected as Mayor for two one-year terms in 2020 and 2021.

A Gippsland local since birth, Cr Goss grew up and attended school in Sale and has been a long-term resident of Warragul since 1980. Cr Goss is married with three adult children and five grandchildren.

Cr Goss has been a long-term member (and Chair) of the Early Years Advisory Committee. He has also served on various other Council Advisory Committees such as Audit and Risk, Place Names, Business Advisory and various Project Reference Groups.

Prior to being elected to Council, Cr Goss served and chaired many local School Boards, was Chair and Treasurer of the Warragul Country Club and Jaycees President.

Cr Goss has been self-employed since his early twenties as a certified practising accountant and is now part-owner of a successful accounting practice. He still works part time in that business.

Outside of Council he is an avid reader and gardener. He still finds time to walk long distances with his dogs and fits in the occasional game of golf.

 Cr Paul Pratt

Councillor Paul Pratt was elected to Baw Baw Shire Council in 2024.

Cr Pratt has lived in Baw Baw Shire since birth, residing in both Buln Buln and Warragul. He is deeply connected in the local community including years of service to Buln Buln Football and Cricket Clubs, Warragul Junior Football Club, Warragul Little Athletics, Warragul Business Group, Lardner Park and Startup Gippsland.

Cr Pratt is an experienced accountant, having worked in the field locally his whole career. He recently sold his accounting and advisory firm to start a not-for-profit organisation with a focus on financial education, backed professionally by a mortgage broking business.

Community spirit and the deep history in agriculture and sport are his favourite things about living in Baw Baw Shire.

Cr Pratt’s vision for Baw Baw Shire involves ensuring the region’s beautiful country charm and rolling landscape are protected, while improving sporting and community infrastructure to support the continued population growth.

As a Councillor, his focus areas include supporting the region’s economic development, investment in sporting grounds and infrastructure, improving traffic flow and connections and forward planning to future proof the community for rapid population growth.

 Cr Suzanne Allen

Councillor Suzanne Allen was first elected to Baw Baw Shire Council in 2024.

She has resided in Baw Baw Shire since childhood living both in Fumina South and Warragul.

Cr Allen has extensive experience in the community as a nurse, beginning her career at West Gippsland Hospital many years ago. Through her varying roles in nursing and management, she brings a high level of critical thinking, empathy and effective communication to her role as a Councillor.

Cr Allen has been involved in varying sporting clubs in Baw Baw Shire over the years, and for the past decade has volunteered with the Warragul Theatre Company supporting productions behind the scenes. She values Baw Baw Shire’s vibrant arts and active sporting communities which all help to create a connected community.

As a Councillor, her goal is to get back to the basics of roads, rubbish and recreation and to really listen, collaborate and respond to what the community are asking for from Council. She aims to ensure that Baw Baw Shire is driven in a positive direction while maintaining a sound financial position and transparency in decision making and spending.

Cr Allen is committed to preserving the character of our small towns while balancing the need for innovation to service our growing and thriving community.

Her favourite part of living in Baw Baw Shire is the scenic landscapes of mountains and rolling hills, as well as the central location one hour from the city, snowfields and beach.
