February 2024 Update
The existing playing surface has been removed and new drainage and irrigation lines installed. A layer of gravel totalling over 800 cubic metres has been laid, which contains the drainage and irrigation lines.
On top of the gravel, nearly 2,500 cubic metres of sand will form a 300mm thick base for the new playing surface. The sand layer will then be levelled and growth additives mixed in before turf is laid in early March.
