The resurfacing of the oval at Drouin Recreation Reserve is now underway after a contract was awarded for this project to Evergreen Turf, at a Council meeting in August 2024.

In July 2024, the State Government announced $1 million towards the project, which coupled with Council’s own contribution took the total value of this project to $3.3 million.

Major earth works have commenced, marking the beginning of construction of the new oval and completion is expected in mid-2025.

The new playing surface at Drouin will eliminate current issues regarding drainage and water retention and introduce a new type of turf, TifTuf, the most drought tolerant couch grass on the market.
