The Trafalgar Multi-Use Pavilion Project originated from an allocation of funding in the 2018/19 Council Budget. This allowed for concept designs to be completed. The allocation of funding was in response to budget submissions completed by user groups at the reserve and a part of the review of the 2018/19 review of the Trafalgar Recreation Precinct Masterplan.
Following a public tender process Council awarded this design project to AVOR Architecture.
As part of the 2019/20 Capital Works Program Council worked with AVOR Architecture and the Project Reference Group to finalise the design and construction drawings for the pavilion.
In February 2020 Council submitted a grant application to the State Government seeking $500,000 towards the project through Sport and Recreation Victoria’s Female Friendly Facilities Fund. Council was advised in July 2020 that the application was successful meaning that the project would move to the delivery stage as part of the 2020/2021 Council Capital Works Program.
During August and September 2020, Council opened a public tender process seeking qualified contractors to submit tenders for the delivery of the project. Upon closing, tenders were evaluated and at its 2 December meeting Council awarded the contract to local contractor Kubale Constructions.
