Accessibility
Baw Baw Shire Council is committed to providing websites that are accessible to the widest possible audience.
This website aims to conform to Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2 (WCAG 2.0), developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
The website is designed to display on all commonly used Internet browsers and to work effectively with accessibility hardware and/or software. Other features implemented to comply with WCAG 2.0 include:
- Developing a responsive site that allows residents to access the website via desktop, table and mobile devices.
- A predictive search bar.
- Content pages that are focused on the information, with all unnecessary images removed.
- Sensory characteristics so that people are not reliant on sound or visuals to obtain information.
- Definitions for jargon and abbreviated terms.
